About This Album
Meraki — a Greek word meaning to do something with soul, creativity, or love; to put something of yourself into your work — is Andrew Doss's 2023 instrumental electronic album. Released in December 2023, this collection marks a return to Andrew's instrumental music roots as the first full-length album of such material, inspired by the pure joy of being creative.
The eleven tracks are a fusion of pulsating synths, ethereal textures, and rhythmic beats that collectively paint a canvas unparalleled in Andrew's musical output. Inspired by the pioneers of ambient electronic music, the album captures the essences of soundscapes that have long stirred his imagination — transporting listeners through the various states of water, life, and meaning, like perhaps a visit to your favorite aquarium.
Produced with guitars added by longtime musical partner Ed Rogers, Meraki is packed full of carefully sculpted elements that work together to create a tapestry inviting you to lose yourself in the rich layers of an expansive listening experience. From the opening "Maiden Voyage" through the contemplative closer, each piece explores a different facet of the water-and-life theme with warmth, curiosity, and devotion to the craft.
