About This Album

Music from Karver's Korner: The Legend of Duke's Gold was Andrew Doss's first full-length album release, arriving in August 2020. The album was inspired by the whimsical chainsaw carvings of lifelong friend Mike Duke, whose roadside establishment in Ellijay, Georgia features a fantastical world of hand-carved characters in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Each type of character Mike carved — bears, aliens, eagles, sasquatches, and more — inspired a dedicated piece of music. Andrew envisioned the roadside attraction as a theme park, composing the album as if it were being played over the sound system to accompany visitors exploring the various sections. The result is eleven tracks that blend electronic production with organic instrumentation from guest musicians, creating a sonic landscape that captures the whimsy, mystery, and Appalachian charm of this one-of-a-kind place.

From cryptid folklore ("Here Come Ol' Sasquatch") to roadside Americana ("Hot Boiled Peanuts") to mythical wonder ("Tree Wizards"), the album transports listeners to the wooded mountain setting even without visiting in person.
